MEET KIARA
As far back as I can remember I have always had an innumerable amount of passions and interests.
As a senior in high school I felt overwhelmed at the idea of having to pick one career and fit myself into its box. Even the idea of having to stick to one college major made me feel confined. I distinctly remember having a meltdown on my parents bedroom floor as I cried to my mom about having no idea what to study in college. I didn’t want to choose.
I first majored in Biology, then switched to Psychology before transferring to another college altogether to land on my final major of Nursing. The study of Nursing is as vast as its opportunities for application. Nursing combines the natural sciences and the social sciences.
The study of nursing was a balance between classroom learning and practical application. The application of nursing can be expressed in a variety of ways including bedside, teaching, and leadership. There are a wide variety of settings in which nursing can take place including hospital, home, and clinic. I think the combination of these aspects of nursing allowed my soul to feel less stifled by the act of choosing one focus of study.
True to my woman- of- many- interests nature, after a few years of working as a nurse I began to get the nudge to study more and to study differently. I became very curious about the topics of spirituality, self- help, and alternative modes of healing. I became audiobook and podcast obsessed. I quit the Master of Nursing program I was attending and began to study and practice Reiki instead.
For the past five years I have been on an inward journey of self rediscovery.
My passions continue to be expansive and ever changing, but what remains constant is my desire to help humanity instill and foster self love at the center of all healing at all stages of life from birth to death.
